Validation check before payroll run

Hi,

We use the standard SAP program for payroll run - PC00_M25_CALC.  We actually would some validations against some of our customized tables before we can execute payroll run.  Is it possible?  Any user exit / enhancements which we can do without affecting future upgrades?
